Peace, Love & Wohelo

Ever since I can remember my Mommy has told me stories and sung me songs from her ten summers at Camp Wohelo in South Casco, Maine. In fact when I'm really fussy, all I want to hear is camp songs! I love to smile and dance to them, sometimes I even try to sing along. My favorites are the ones that have hand movements or clapping that go with them. Those are super fun! In any case, Mommy and I decided to play dress up today and I tried on my first Wohelo uniform - a blue & white stripped onesie and plain navy shorts! It brought back lots of great memories for Mommy and I had lots of fun too! Here are some pics to prove it!

"When I was a little girl just so high, my Momma told me that bye and bye, when I was seven, if I were good, I could go to Wohelo, yes I could!"

Sing alongs are fun! They're even better when you get to dress the part!

Is it rest time yet? Posing for all these pictures is hard work!

Before I sign off I wanted to send a huge shot out to my Mommy's best friend Liz, who Mommy met at Wohelo. It's her birthday today so I want to wish her the happiest of birthday's and send some birthday hugs her way! Any friend of Mommy's is a friend of mine!

Peace, love & Wohelo,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Bath Time

Daddy was in Bremond tonight for a meeting of the Volunteer Fire Department so that left Mommy to cover bath time (which is usually Daddy's job). I wanted to make it a special night so I shared my new talent with Mommy which of course meant she had to go get the camera... not that I minded! Since she captured it on film I figured I'd share my new talent with everyone.
No more sippy cups for me... I can drink straight from the tap!

It's better this way, trust me.

Of course I had to pose for the obligatory photo of me nude in the bath tub... I'm sure this will eventually come back to haunt me :)

This is me post-bath and all ready for bed. My Mommy thought my face was really cute so I'm obliging her by posting it. Plus the blue from the shirt really highlights my eyes.

What's better than one clean baby??? How about two! So Mommy got a little creative with the picture taking, this one turned out great so I had to share.

Mommy, what does my shirt say?

Future Park Ranger... just like Great Granddaddy Freeman... guess the love of the outdoors runs in the family :)

Peace, love and bath time,

Peace, Love & Amoxicillin

As this week draws to a close I'm excited to say that my brush with tonsilitus is officially over! I'm back to sleeping through the night, eating everything in sight and talking up a storm. Although my Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor to get Amoxicillin I have to credit my speedy recovery to the extra tender loving care I received from Grandma & Granddaddy Doc. In fact, they got up with me almost every night of my week long stay at their house! Grandma and Granddaddy followed me around the house, made sure I ate, comforted me when my throat hurt and loved me like only grandparents can. So here is a shot out to Grandma & Granddaddy for speeding my recovery from the first major illness of my life and pictures from this morning to prove that I'm back to my normal rambuncious self!

Peace, love and Amoxicillin,
Bailey

Peace, Love & McKenzie

Wanted to take a quick moment to introduce my new friend, McKenzie! She was born to my friend Canaan (who worked with Daddy at the fire station) and his wife, Jocelin. McKenzie was born on the 18th and weighed 6 lbs, 1 oz - thats a full three pounds lighter than I was! I can actually say that I was never that small! Wanted to share a quick pic of my new friend - isn't she cute! Hopefully I'll get to meet her soon and I can teach her all the fun tricks I've learned... should I start with the high five or maybe some of my dance moves?? Peace, love and McKenzie,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Roadtrip

Mommy, Daddy and I took a little trip this past weekend to the great big city of Dallas. It's been a long time since we've been on a long road trip like this (I was four months old last time) but I did really well. It helped that Mommy and Daddy took breaks when I wasn't sleeping. Plus they let me help out with the driving... just kidding!

This was our first pit stop on the way to Dallas... Centerville, Tx. Notice that I'm already perfecting my driving technique. 14 months going on 16!

This is our second pit stop on the way up... the VFW in Ennis, Tx. I got out and wanted to run. There were lots of rocks to pick up and carry around. Mommy and I even got in a quick game of hide and go seek! Mommy needs to find better hiding places cause I always find her.

From here we went and met up with Aunt Erin and waited for Uncle Ben to get home from work. After a quick set of hello's Mommy, Daddy and I set out for Sheree and Jeff's for dinner.

At Sheree and Jeff's I met their three puppies - Samson, Heidy and Harley. Harley was definitely my type of dog - small and laid back. Samson at 100 lbs was a bundle of energy and was a little scary until I got used to him. He loved giving me kisses though so he's fine in my book. I took a little break from playing with the puppies to show off my dancing skills along with my love of remote controls!

This is a picture of me, Sheree and Jeff (I look a little out of it not only because it was late but because Mommy took my remote away and I wanted it back). We were very lucky that our friends opened their home to us and Sheree even made us a delicious home cooked meal with handmade baked meatballs... YUMMY!!

After sleeping in on Sunday Mommy, Daddy and I met Aunt Erin and Uncle Ben for a late breakfast and then headed to the Arlington Convention Center for a bridal show. We watched the fashion show (although I got more attention than the girls on stage) and checked out the booths for ideas as well as registry information. It was a fun afternoon followed by a long drive home to College Station.
This week Mommy and Daddy have been working long hours at the Challenge Course so I've been staying with Grandma and Granddaddy Doc. I've been having a great time but I've been a little under the weather. I started feeling a little off last week but the doctor told Mommy that it was probably just a virus last Friday. Turns out that doctor was wrong and the physicians assistant that I saw today diagnosed me with tonsilitus. Now that I have medicine I'm hoping I'll be back to full throttle by Friday afternoon when I get to come home from Camp Granddaddy! I miss running around terrorizing my puppies, what can I say!

Peace, Love & Retirement

Now you might be saying to yourself "Retirement... but she's so young?" And sadly the truth is that at fourteen months I have not retired much aside from clothing and diapers. Yesterday's retirement party was for Granddaddy Doc and his seven years of service with GIE. It is questionable however, as to who was really the life of the party.

This is me and Granddaddy heading for the festivities... who do you think is leading the way?

Here I am mingling with all of the party attendees. I simply strutted my stuff and everyone fell in love. Granddaddy got lots of compliments on how well behaved I was and there wasn't anyone who disagreed with his decision to retire after meeting me! It was really nice to hear all of the good things everyone said about Granddaddy and to be able to take part in this special day!

Had to ham it up for the camera a little bit... this is one of those face that rarely get captured so we just had to share.

After an hour and a half drive from College Station and two hours of partying I'm ready to get out of my dress but I had to pose for one last picture with Granddaddy. We topped of the day with a trip to Babies R' Us and then began the hour and a half drive back home. It was an early night for all (I went to bed at 6pm). In fact I was so worn out I didn't even want dinner. Tiring as it was I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
Peace, love and retirement,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Dancing

Just wanted to let everyone know that I love to DANCE!! For the last couple of days anytime I hear music I start to get down (I even dance to the jeopary and wheel of fortune theme music). My favorite dance move involves spinning around in one direction. Mommy and Daddy aren't sure where I learned this but I love to do it. In fact this evening while Daddy was making dinner we turned the music on in the kitchen and I spun so much I fell down. Falling didn't ruin my dancing spirit - I simply spun around on my bum on the floor. Mommy and Daddy nearly fell over they were laughing so hard... what can I say, I'm a ham! If my Mommy ever figures out how to post a video maybe I'll post a picture of my crazy dancing for the world to see. Well it's time for bed... sweet dreams my friends.
Peace, love and dancing,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Fire

On August 4th my parents and I took a day trip to Bremond to visit Busia, Dza Dza and Uncle Paul in honor of Busia & Dza Dza's 35th wedding anniversary. We were having a great time and drying off after spending some time in the pool when Uncle Paul heard some talk on the fire radio about a big fire south of town. At the time Daddy was changing my diaper but Uncle Paul ran in to get his gear and then the fire truck picked him up in front of the house and off he road. Of course the rest of us continued to listen to the radio to hear what was happening and see how big the fire was. After about 10 minutes the man in charge of the scene began calling for rehab equipment (the heat index was a mere 103 degrees) as well as more personnel. At that point Daddy was putting me down for a nap so he and Mommy decided it would be ok for him to go and check it out. Mommy and Daddy decided to grab some bottled water from the fire station, along with some that Busia had, and take it out to the sight where Daddy could assess the situation and see if there was anything he could do. The following are pictures from the trip Mommy took to drop Daddy off - he's a firefighter through and through!

After Mommy dropped Daddy off and ran to Busia's to get something for Uncle Paul, everyone decided to go and see if the boys (Uncle Paul and Daddy) were ready to come home yet. After fighting fire for three and a half hours we caught up with my Daddy - hot, sweaty and dirty he's still handsome don't you think??

While we waited for Daddy to convince Uncle Paul it was time to come home Mommy snapped some more pictures of me! We are actually on the road that ran through the center of the fire and there were planes and helicopters dropping water and fire retardant on either side of us! It was really exciting and super loud... lucky Busia and Mommy were with me to explain what was going on, otherwise I might have been scared.
Here is one of the helicopters that was dropping water - it was HUGE! It flew right over the top of us and actually made the truck shake... thats how close it was! The thing that looks like a rope hanging from the bottom of the helicopter is what it was using to suck up water out of the tanks and ponds that were in the area. This helicopter worked really hard, it was dropping water every ten minutes or so - it was insane how quickly it refilled and returned with its load!
I got tired of sitting in my car seat waiting for Daddy to finish up so Busia helped me look out the window. It was neat because got I to see the helicopters, fire trucks and fire fighters and even a reporter up close and personal. You always see the water and fire retardent drops on TV but I've seen them up close!
Around 630pm we loaded Daddy and Uncle Paul into the back of the pickup and headed back to Busia & Dza Dza's house for dinner. We didn't end up having the quiet dinner at the Coalmine like we planned but while the boys cooled off in the pool Dza Dza went and got our dinners and brought them home. We had a great anniversary dinner with all of the important parts - Busia, Dza Dza, Uncle Paul, Mommy, Daddy and Me!

So this is the story of my first fire... any guesses about who in the family this comes from??

Peace, love and fire,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Teething

I would like to say that things have calmed down since the whole yeast ordeal but things continue to keep us on our toes. Yesterday was super important as it was my Mommy's birthday! It started off with a phone call from Uncle Brett in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. That was super exciting because aside from a couple postcards and reading his blog, we hadn't heard much from him. I didn't get to talk to him since I hadn't gotten out of bed yet but Mommy made sure to pass along a hug and a kiss. The coolest thing about the phone call was that he was calling from tomorrow - I don't really understand how it works but Daddy said that in Malaysia it was August 3rd when it was only August 2nd in Texas!

For Mommy's birthday I gave her a really good present, tooth number 12! I now have all four molars and my four front teeth both top and bottom. It's a little early but Mommy is hoping that this means the low grade fevers will stop for a while. She says my body needs to work on healing all the little scrapes and bruises I get running full throttle around the house (inside and out).

Oh before I sign off I wanted to let y'all with little boys know that they are susceptible for yeast infections as well. Mommy found out from a friend of hers that had two little boys. So for any Mommy with a little one, if the diaper rash doesn't look quite right (more like bug bites than a rash) consider taking your little one to the doctor. On that note it's time for me to sign off, my Kotch side is failing me and I seem to be at a loss for words.

Peace, love and teething,
Bailey

PS I had Mommy try to upload a video of me to the blog but it didn't work yesterday or today... we will try again tomorrow but if you have any hints let us know - Mommy isn't incredibly tech savy but I thought she could handle this :)
