Peace, Love & The Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch

This morning I thought we were going to stay around the lodge and go swimming and maybe fishing or for a hike but Mommy and Daddy had something else up their sleeve - the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Mommy and Daddy said that they had vacationed in San Antonio before and had visited the Natural Bridge Caverns but hadn't had the time to visit the wildlife ranch which is right next door. They thought that I needed to be a little bigger to take a shot at the mile and a half walk you do in the caverns but figured that the wildlife ranch would be right up my alley.

Daddy and I started the morning by feeding the deer some feed (don't worry we weren't feeding them tostito's, just using the bag to carry the feed from the 50 lb bag we bought).

After feeding the deer we headed of to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, and African Safari Texas style (Mommy said it was a way larger scale of the YO Ranch safari).

Since you drive your own vehicle through the safari, Mommy and Daddy took me out of my carseat so I could throw feed to the animals.

Me looking out the back window at the longhorns & watusi which were walking by.

A young aoudad (goat) in a tree, I watched him jump up there from the ground!

Part of the way through the safari I crawled up front and sat on the armrest next to Daddy.

There were tons of babies out with their mommies - this wildebeast looked like she had had a pair of twins, neither one ever left her side!

About halfway through the safari I decided I wanted to give driving a try. Daddy controled the speed and kept his hands near the wheel but he actually let me steer!

A herd of scimitar horned oryx that we found.

Me looking out the window watching all the animals.

A mommy & baby blesbok.

Me leaning back to get a better view of the two white rhinocerous in thier pens.

A male ostrich with a herd of llamas behind him (if it looks like he's headed toward our truck, he was, he came and pecked at Daddy's window five or six times).

After we finished our safari, Mommy & I headed to find the gift shop because it housed the bathrooms!

Me, Daddy and a giraffe (Mommy & Daddy were amazed when we drove up to pay for our entrance into the ranch and I looked through the windshield and said 'giraffe').

Me and the goats at the petting zoo.

My first icee.

Me feeding a buck out of my bucket.

Me going back to Mommy & Daddy after chasing the ducks.

The deer got a little impatient while waiting for me to throw the feed out and decided to just go into the bag and get it herself.

Distracted by food this female deer let me pet her repeatedly.

Today was incredible! I got to see so many different types of animals right outside the window of our truck! If you are ever around the New Braunfels area I highly recommend that you stop by and visit the wildlife ranch, its awesome! I can't wait until we can go back, hopefully I'll be big enough that we can visit the Natural Bridge Caverns too!

Peace, love & the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch,
Bailey

Looks like you guys are having a great summer! It's weird, your blog never comes up to the top of my blog list when you have a new entry. Sarah was saying the same thing. I wonder why?
