Peace, Love & A Beautiful Spring Day

Spring time in College Station, or anywhere in Central Texas for that matter, brings with it a wide variety of weather conditions. Lately we have run through the entire gamut of these conditions and today was no different. What started out as a cold & dreary day with a storm lingering on the horizon quickly shifted gears about midday and because a glourious afternoon of sunshine and mid-70 degree weather. Almost as amazing as the weather shift was my desire to take part in every moment of both types of weather. Since Mommy wouldn't let me go outside to play in the thunder & lightening, I found myself the best seat in the house... the windowsill! Don't worry, Mommy was never very far away and she would of caught me if I slipped or at least kissed the booboos away had I fallen (for the record I did neither, I climbed down the same way I climbed up).

The view when Mommy first realized I was not on my table but on the windowsill.

I was trying to get a better view of the rain & see if it was going to fill up the creek like the storm did the other night.

Windowsill smiles & my curly morning hair!

I stepped back onto my table and was looking down at the birds on the ground at the bird feeder. Mommy said the birdies had come out to feed on worms coming up out of the ground after the rain.

Around lunch, as Mommy was finishing up downloading the pictures from this morning, I got ahold of the camera and wanted to take pictures of my Bear. After taking several pictures of Bear by myself, I decided it would be ok if Mommy took a picture of me and Bear (I only let her take one picture though because it was my turn to use the camera).

After lunch, my nap & a quick trip to Walmart I went over to Grandma & Grandaddy's so Mommy could go walking with Aunt Cindy. While I was visiting I got to finger paint with Grandma and then I got to go outside plant flowers with Grandaddy.

Playing in the dirt with Grandaddy.

I even got my own pair of gloves to wear while planting flowers!

After I finished planting flowers with Grandaddy it was time to go inside and help Grandma make dinner, I got to put the chopped up bell peppers on the salad! Mommy came home before long because Aunt Cindy was sick and couldn't walk with her and then it was time to sit down for dinner. Once dinner was done, Mommy & I hurried home so I could get a chance to play with the puppies before it was bath & bedtime. It was still super bright outside so Grandma let me borrow an old pair of non-prescription sunglasses for the ride home.

Looking cool in my carseat with my shades!

Don't I look like a movie star?? If I'm the star does that make my Mommy the paparazzi?

As you can see, I had a fantastic day and the crazy weather made it that much better! Where else, aside from Central Texas, can you curl up and snuggle in the morning because its cold & rainy outside and then plant flowers & have to wear sunglasses in the evening because its so sunshiny? Guess we are just blessed!

Peace, love & a beautiful spring day,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Knee High Socks

I'm doing this blog entry specifically to pacify my Mother who for some unknown reason finds my new "fashion sense" extremely entertaining. Take a look and see for yourself... personally, I thinks she's nuts!

As of late I've decided that I don't want to keep my socks rolled down but instead would rather them be unrolled and up to my knees. No it's not a meager attempt to keep my legs warm when not wearing pants because I will unroll them when wearing long pants as well. Please disregard the stunned expression on my face, for the life of me I couldn't figure out why my Mother was laughing so hard.

Here is a better look at what my Mommy was giggling about.

Later in the evening, after my bath, Dancing with the Stars was on. As Derek & Lil' Kim were doing the tango, I was doing my best to remember the steps that Grandaddy had taught me. My parents thought I did a pretty good rendition!

I've started giving my parents hints as to when I'm ready to go "night night" or take a nap as the case may be. Some of my other hints have missed the mark but my latest hint is almost 100% fool-proof. I simply pull all of the pillows off of the couches and make them into a big pile and then lay on top of them. Tonight I even found a blanket to add to the pile.

After making my pile of pillows & blankets I had second thoughts about going 'night-night' as Dancing with the Stars came back from commercial & the music for the next number was really catchy!

Be sure to stay tuned to the blog as I continue to be a trendsetter. I promise that bringing back knee high socks is just the beginning of my forays into fashion! (Even if Mommy & Daddy don't think that knee high socks is a trend worth reviving.)

Peace, love & knee high socks,

Peace, Love & A Relaxing Day with Daddy

Lately Daddy has been uber busy between working at the fire station and out at the fire field plus for the next week and half he has training everyday, so today we decided to take it easy, chill out and just be a family. We started off the day when Daddy got home from the fire house by watching Bass Masters & Animal Planet while Daddy made pancakes and Mommy slept in a little bit. After that we played around the house and made a quick trip to Kroger. In the afternoon we headed out to Central Park and then, after a quick change of clothes, to mass. We wrapped up the day with dinner and bath time. Overall not very exciting but an absolutely perfect day!

Sitting watching Animal Planet while waiting for Daddy to finish our pancakes.

At the Central Park play area - I climbed the steps all by myself.

Down the slide!

Daddy helping me to slide down the firemans pole - I was too interested in getting my picture taken to remember to wrap my legs around the pole... silly me!

Going up the stairs again.

Crossing the wiggly bridge.

Swinging!

I'm not sure if I enjoyed swinging or people watching more!

Headed down the trail.

Running around the Christopher Breen Memorial Deck at St. Mary's after mass. I always want to run around and explore the deck but this was the first time that Mommy and Daddy actually stopped and let me run till my heart was content!

I did stop for a moment so Mommy could snap a quick picture of me & my pretty new shirt.

I climbed up on some benches that used to surround the tree that the deck was built around. They had to cut down the tree last year but there was lots of interesting stuff to look at down in the hole where the tree used to be.

Today was a fantastic day and I super excited that I got to spend so much quality time with my Daddy. I know he doesn't like being gone so much but its kinda nice because it makes what would have been a normal day super special.

Peace, love & a relaxing day with Daddy,

Peace, Love & The Livestock Show

Since Daddy had to work today and Mommy has a ton of stuff to do for the impending season of craft fairs, Grandma & Grandaddy took me to the Brazos Expo Center to check out the 53rd Annual Brazos County Youth Livestock Show. Although it was a little on the chilly side we suited up and ventured out.

Me in my car seat on the way to the expo center.

For the first trip around the barn I stuck to the stroller but after that all bets were off!

Grandma & I looking at all the rabbits that were there for the show.

It's official... I have enough hair to get hat hair!!

Watching the cows get a bath.

Halter central... look at all the bright colored rope!

Grandma & I walking around looking at the sheep & goats in the pens.

The petting zoo part of the expo had already closed when we got there but luckily there were some nice people who let me pet their rabbit.

I had a great time at the livestock show today and am really glad that I got to share it with Grandma & Grandaddy. Although I didn't get to pet many of the animals this year, at least I have something to look forward to for next year!

Peace, Love & The Big Kid Table

Tonight Daddy suggested that instead of eating in my high chair I just sit at the big kid table. I think Mommy was a little hesitant but I got to anyways! I felt like such a grown-up!

Yum - fish sticks, crinkle fries & cesear salad!

I had a great time dangling my feet under the table!

Big girl bites

Smiling for pictures ("Can I eat yet Mommy?")

Mommy says it seems like just yesterday that I started eating solid foods. Its hard to believe that was over a year ago! Back then I couldn't walk and had to motor around on all fours and now everyday is full of me running from one place to another learning about and encountering as many new things as possible. Its crazy how so many changes can take place in a time span that seems like its just overnight! One short video & then I'll let you go for today.

Dancing with Daddy

I know the video doesn't have anything to do with me eating at the big girl table but it shows me & Daddy "gettin' giggy with it" which is entertainment for the whole family! I hope you enjoy the video!

Peace, love & the big kid table,
Bailey

Peace, Love & The Natural History Museum

This afternoon Mommy & Daddy had an appointment in Houston so after Kindermusik they dropped me off at Grandma & Grandaddy's. After lunch and my nap we ventured out to the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. Grandma & Grandaddy said that it was geared towards kids that were a little bit older but luckily we were the only ones there and the lady in charge was able to bring out a bunch of the animals for me to see up close and cater somewhat towards my age. In any case I had a lot of fun at the museum and learned lots of cool facts about all sorts of exotic animals.

In the car on the way to the museum.

Me & Grandma in front of the museum.

Trying to take everything in (there was sooooo much to look at).

"Hey these guys (wolves) look a lot like my puppies!"

My first encounter with an antelope.

My first encounter with an iguana. I even got to pet it, how cool is that!

Watching the iguanas eat (the lady in charge let me help feed all of the animals, except the snakes because Grandma & Grandaddy didn't want to see that).

After the museum we went back to Grandma & Grandaddy's house and played until Mommy & Daddy got home.

A huge storm blew into Houston while they were there and it took over three hours for them to get home. Needless to say it was bedtime before they arrived to pick me up from Grandma & Grandaddy's but we weren't complaining. Grandma, Grandaddy & I had a fantastic afternoon from the museum to playing at home - I am such a lucky girl!

Peace, Love & Astronaut Dreams

Daddy & I are always coming up with new games and today when he put my carseat back together was no exception. To make sure that the straps would tighten properly and were in the correct place for my size, Daddy buckled me in the car seat in the kitchen. Since I was strapped in we decided to play like we were at NASA space camp.

"Houston we are ready for take-off!"

"Yee-haw!" Notice I took my trusty companion spot into space with me!

Space Smiles

"More Daddy" (I'm actually signing 'more' but since I'm holding Spot it looks a little different).

That was fun Daddy, can we hang out at space camp some more.

Yeah!!!!

I had a great time playing space camp with Daddy so I can't complain that sometime between when I went to bed last night and this morning my carseat found its way from the truck to the middle of the kitchen floor. When I asked Mommy about it she reminded me about the stray dog that we found yesterday and how she left the windows open on the truck while she went inside to find a leash for him. Then she reminded me about the massive storm that blew in last night right before I went to bed... I remembered this because Mommy turned out the lights in the kitchen and we watched from my table by the window. It was the first time that I had seen thunder and lightening like that and it was awesome. In short, Mommy had forgotten to close the windows and found out about 8pm when she went out to gather some storm water for the garden.

Apparently the entire inside of the truck was soaked including standing water on the dash. Thankfully Grandma came and stayed with me since I was already asleep and Mommy took the truck to the fire station where they were able to put it inside the station and leave some fans on it all night. Amazingly by this morning the truck was all dry and we were able to put my car seat back in it, after we finished playing space camp of course.

Bailey
