Peace, Love & Gardening

I have inherited my parents love of the great outdoors and yesterday is proof of this. My parents decided to seize the 87 degree temperatures by the horns and complete the garden that they had started the previous week. I was super excited to get to wear shorts and a t-shirt and get out play in the backyard. My joy was topped off by the fact that Mommy & Daddy not only let me help with building the box for the garden but mixing the dirt and watering the plants we had previously planted. I love playing with the hose - the water was so refreshing on such a hot day!

Do you need water in this pot too?

Getting a drink of water while searching for something new to do.

Spreading the top soil along the bottom of the box.

We need some more dirt over here Daddy!

Carrying the vermiculite down to where we were mixing the dirt with some compost & other extras recommended in the gardening book Daddy is reading.

Taking a break to cool off and get a drink.

Getting a drink from Daddy's cup of ice water.

Picking up another bag of vermiculite for Daddy.

Dropping off the vermiculite at the mixing tarp.

Helping Daddy to mix the compost and the dirt - this pile was bigger than me and we hadn't even added the peat moss, vermiculite and the other bag of compost!

Needless to say we had a very, very, very dirty afternoon! Everything including me went straight into the wash! Poor Grandma got the unlucky task of scrubbing all the dirt off of me while Mommy, Daddy and Grandaddy Doc finished up outside, put all the tools up and made dinner! Although Mommy had to get the dirt off of my clothes and shoes so maybe she got the worse end of the deal - at least Grandma got to spend quality time with me!

Peace, Love & Bounce

My Daddy and I have found the greatest little place to play... its called The Bounce! I'm sure that I have mentioned it before but this time I have pictures, and lots of them! Bounce is an inflatable gym play place that Daddy takes me to when he doesn't have work on Friday. Sometimes Daddy's friends from the fire house bring their kids and come play with us. Even if they can't make it, Daddy I have a ton of fun and I've met lots of fun kids my size. Plus my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is BOUNCE!!

Going down the slide.

Big smiles at the bottom of the slide.

Getting a drink from the water fountain like a big girl.

Bouncing in the Tweety jumper!

Climbing up the pirates slide.

Coming down the pirates slide.

Me & Daddy

The inflatable ball pit.

Climbing up one of the slides.

Coming down!

Going through the doughnut hole.

Daddy & I have so much fun at Bounce and if you are ever in or around College Station we would love to go and play with you. Mommy & Daddy even promised that I could have a birthday party there when I get a little bit bigger! I hope that you have enjoyed the pics from my trip to bounce - Daddy took them with the camera Grandaddy Doc gave Mommy to keep in the diaper bag (that way she won't miss any more firsts).

Peace, Love & Birthdays

During the winter months my family is blessed with several birthdays. I thought that I would I would share the pictures from each of the birthdays so you could see how much I've grown in such a short period of time

December 10, 2008 - Grandma & me

January 10, 2009 - Daddy & me

February 24, 2009 - Grandaddy & me (a day before his birthday)

Kinda crazy when you look at it that way isn't it. Mommy says that she can never tell if I've grown or changed except when I no longer fit in my clothes (which is like every two weeks)! Can you tell how much I've changed??

Peace, Love & My Favorite Things

Since my blog updates are coming a little farther apart due to my busy schedule I felt I needed to explain a little bit about what I've been up to. Now I know that it is hard to believe, seeing as I am only 20 months old, but I have an extremely busy schedule. On Wednesdays I go to the library and then on Thursdays I go to Kindermusik. If I'm lucky and Daddy doesn't have to work we go to Bounce (an indoor inflatable playground) on Fridays. Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for running errands and doing things around the house and Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for Mass and family down time (if you can believe that). Anytime that we are at home I keep busy helping Mommy and Daddy around the house, whether its sorting laundry, picking up dog poop, cleaning baseboards, preparing the garden, water the plants, taking out the trash and getting tools for whatever project Daddy is working on.

Aside from the things listed above I have a new found love of fishing. Thankfully my parents are nurturing this new passion and found me a fishing pole that has a practice fishy weight for casting. I love playing with it in the house, in the backyard and, as you can see, in the front yard. The only part I haven't quite figured out is how to reel it back in which stinks because I really hate when the string gets tangled around my feet.

I've recently figured out that trees are good for climbing. Although my first attempts haven't been all that productive, I'm learning! Busia & Dza Dza said it won't be long until my parents find me on the roof like they found my Daddy... of course I don't have a peacock to follow.

In all the hustle and bustle a girl has to take a break and just enjoy the beautiful weather and take in the view.

As of late my hair has been growing like crazy. It's been awhile since Mommy or Daddy have tried to put anything in my hair but when I found Mommy's hairband next to the bed I tried to put it Mommy's hair. When that didn't go so well Mommy made me my own ponytail.

I've recently discovered the fun of bouncing thanks to the jumper that Mommy got me after Christmas. On the downside I now know I can bounce on anything and everything, including Mommy and Daddy's bed.

One would think that my new love of bouncing on the bed wouldn't be a big deal, except for the fact that I taught myself to get up on the bed. Now if Mommy and Daddy leave the door open to their bedroom I can get on the bed whenever I want. Guess that means when I get my big girl bed I'll be able to come into their room and wake them up instead of having to call them through the monitor (yup, I can open doors on my own too).

Just a quick pic of me & Mommy.

Me & Daddy!

I hope that these pictures give you a little insight into my daily comings and goings. Mommy and Daddy can't believe how quickly I'm growing up and how fast I'm learning new things (they can hardly keep up with the "toddler-proofing").

Peace, Love & Mount Everest

Howdy everyone - sorry for the delay but we've been a little busy with trips to library and kindermusik. Wanted to make sure that I made a notation today because today is a day of several firsts for me (and frightful firsts for my Mommy).

My high chair as it looked when I climbed it... my Mount Everest!

This evening while Mommy was folding laundry I told her that I wanted to eat (both vocally and in sign language). Mommy said that it wasn't time for dinner and when I deemed that response incorrect I chose to climb into my high chair by myself. Now this isn't really abnormal when it is lowered to ground level, but this time is was fully extended to its highest level. Mommy was really surprised to turn around and find me sitting in my high chair - needless to say she gave in and got me a snack!

Mommy & Daddy potty!

Almost immediately after I finished my cheese stick snack Daddy took me in to give me a bath before dinner (brave, I know). When he took off my diaper he noticed that it wasn't wet at all so he put me on the Mommy & Daddy potty. To his surprise I pottied... alot!

Then it was on to bath time. One of my favorite tricks is when Daddy asks me "What does a fishy say?" at which point I do the Aggie freshman wildcat, "AAAAAAAAAAA".

" Where's your head Bailey?"

"Where's your nose?"

"Where is your ear?"

One final shot of my bath time. I wanted Mommy to ask me where my teeth were but she just kept trying to take my picture. It's a shame that Daddy had already washed my hair cause you can't see all of my beautiful curls! I'm so excited that my hair has finally started growing. Mommy says its almost long enough to hold a barrette or two!

Peace, love & Mount Everest,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Feeding Friends

Lately I have been impressing my parents with my desire to share. I guess they thought they were going to have to teach me to share but I have such good examples that I didn't need any special training! To demonstrate I asked Daddy to put my favorite Tigger in my high chair after breakfast on Sunday.

I insisted that Tigger was not only seated in my high chair but made sure that Daddy buckled him in as well. Once he was seated I brought him my milk cup.

Then I showed him how to use my milk cup.

Then I asked Daddy to lower my high chair closer to the ground so I could feed Tigger some of my Cheerios.

It amazes my parents that I can be so selfless at such a young age but what can I say I want my friend to be happy!

Bailey
