Peace, Love & Yeast

So this week has been a week of ups & downs. When my "diaper rash" reappeared and refused to disappear I starting getting a little irritable. That let to a trip to the doctor's office today. Normally I wouldn't mention this except that it might be highly useful for those other mommies with little girls! You see I don't actually have diaper rash, I have yeast which caused little lesions. The look like little bug bites in my diaper regions - the big difference between this and diaper rash is it was localized and didn't extend to my bum like diaper rash would have. The thought that I at 13 months I got diaper rash for the first time kind of distressed my Mommy so it was nice to have an answer and a cream that will hopefully end this once and fore all.
Aside from my yeast making irritable, I also have been working on cutting my 12th tooth. Needless to say this has given me a low grade fever for the week plus enough drool to fill my baby pool! As if the yeast and cutting a tooth weren't enough - I skinned my knee this morning going to get into the truck plus I got my first official rock bite from some bricks I was climbing on on the back porch. If you haven't figured it out I'm a tough little cookie - all these little scrapes aren't gonna keep me down!
So with all of that said I wanted to take a moment to welcome my newest friend Logan to the world! He joined the party yesterday night at 11:18pm and I can't wait until we get to play together with his big brother Mason! Mason and I have so much to teach little Logan. Mommy went and visited Logan's mommy in the hospital and she said both mommy and baby are doing really well!
That's all the news I have for right now - be sure to check out the pic I added to my last entry of Aunt Erin & Uncle Ben from their engagement!

Peace, Love & My Favorite Things

You'll have to excuse the fact that its been ages since I wrote in my blog but Mommy and Daddy have been keeping me pretty busy... or is it the other way around. This past weekend was lots of fun - I got to spend some quality time with Grandma and Granddaddy, go swimming, play with all my toys, and practice my yoga poses.

My favorite toy right now is one that Grandma and Granddaddy got me for my birthday. Mommy doesn't have a picture of me playing in it because she forgot her camera and I wasn't really in the mood to pose when she was using Granddaddy's but you get the idea. I love crawling all through my little dora hideaway. Mommy says its a big kid toy but I think I'm big enough! Plus since I'm on so tiny I don't knock it all around like Daddy does when he plays with it!

Not much else is going on besides the normal stuff. Although I did get a special visit from cousin Tootie on Thursday and Mommy measured me the other day. She said that I'm 32 inches tall which means I've grown two inches in three week! This also means that I can reach the middle of the table as well as the kitchen counters now. Mommy says she is in a constant state of baby-proofing since everyday I can get into something new.

My new favorite food is grapes and I don't even need them chopped up anymore! I love helping mommy do laundry and I really like reading with Mommy and Daddy. Most of all I love being outdoors - preferably in the swimming pool. Oh, I almost forgot - Mommy took me to this new place this week - the gym! It was really fun, they had all sorts of neat toys and I got to play with other kids my age and some a little older. It was so much fun I didn't even notice that Mommy had left, until she came back!

Finally for the big news of the weekend - Mommy said that Aunt Erin and Uncle Ben got engaged! Uncle Ben proposed down in San Antonio under a tree reminiscent of the Century Tree, on Marriage Island. We are super excited and can't wait to hear all about the wedding plans. The fun part is that they got engaged the day before my Mommy and Daddy's six year anniversary of their engagement! Guess this is a lucky time of year!

Well, I gotta get some playing out of my system before my nap. I promise that I will try to write more often - I just have to convince Mommy to download the pictures more frequently!

Peace, love & my favorite things,

Bailey

Peace, Love & Flamingos

I love swimming! Mommy, Daddy and I went swimming today in the saltwater pool at Grandma and Granddaddy's and it was incredible (although the sun kept getting in my eyes). I really enjoy jumping from the side of the pool into Mommy or Daddy's arms! To their surprise I'm getting really good at kicking my legs behind me, putting my face underwater, and anything that involves splashing! I even held on to the side of the pool all by myself and kicked! Sorry I don't have a picture of me in my adorable swimsuit but it was a one piece halter style suit with pink gingham fabric and embroidered pink flamingos. I'll make sure Mommy and Daddy get a picture next time we go swimming... they said we could go again on Wednesday!

Peace, Love & New Friends

I just wanted everyone to meet my new friend Sophia Kinman! She was born just last month to one of my Mommy's best friends! They live in California so we haven't had a chance to play yet but hopefully we will get our formal introductions soon. There is so much that I can teach and show her! I'm sure we will have just as much fun together as our mommies did!

Peace, Love & Hiding Spots

Howdy everyone - Wanted to say hello and wish everyone a wonderful Tuesday. I also wanted to let everyone know about my new hiding spot. No its not a hiding spot for me, its for my food. You see, my Mommy and Daddy always put extra food on my plate because they know that some of it will end up, literally going to the dogs. Mommy and Daddy have been working diligently to make me stop feeding table scraps to the dogs and as a result I've had some left over food the last couple of evenings. Now, I've figured out how to clean my plate and follow the rules about not feeding the dogs, I simply store the extra underneath me! You can't just slide it down the side of your chair though, you actually have to lift your buttcheek and slide it underneath your bum and your thigh! Last nights mac n' cheese, carrots and peas made for the quite the experiment... Mommy ended up having to give me a bath last night because my hiding spot worked so well! I think Mom and Dad would almost rather me feed the dogs.

Peace, Love & Diaper Rash

It stinks but I officially have my first bout with diaper rash :( I know that you might not think that this is possible but under my Mommy & Daddy's watchful eye I happened to make it through my first 13 months without experiencing this pain and for that I am eternally greatful! Thankfully my Grandma knew that this day would come and prepared my Mommy for the occasion. You see, when my Grandma worked in Boise, Idaho before I was born some co-workers told her about this miracle diaper rash cream at a local market... wahoo does it work like a charm! When Mommy applied it last night, the redness almost instantly went away! I just had to write and let everyone know what an incredible goop this stuff is (its made of cornstarch and something else I can't pronounce). Anyways, my diapers off to you Grandma, thanks for being a bum-saver :)
Peace, love and diaper rash,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Busia

Yesterday was such an incredible day! Mommy and Daddy went to work at the Challenge Course and I got to spend all day with my Busia (thats Grandma in Polish) . We had a whole lot of fun, as we always do, playing with my toys and playing outside. Then to top it off I got to spend time with my Uncle Paul too. He wasn't there all day but he stopped by and played some before Mommy and Daddy got home.
After Mommy and Daddy got home we got cleaned up and went to mass. Although this doesn't seem like a huge deal, it is always an adventure since I love talking to the priests, especially during moments of prayer. Today was no different as I gibber gabbered with the priest and every other baby in church. The fun part was when Mommy took me to the back where several other mommies had taken their children and I got to socialize for a little bit. I toddled from one family to the next waving and speaking baby talk to everyone. It was nice to meet some people my own age for once but Mommy said in the future that would have to wait until after the Mass was finished!
Peace, love and Busia,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Head-Butting

Just wanted to tell everyone what a wonderful day I had today. First off I got a chance to go to lunch with Aunt Katie S. at Jason's Deli. Before we even got to Jason's Deli Mommy and I stopped by World Market and I made friends with several other customers - they knicknamed me smiley and warned Mommy that I was going to be "too smart for my own good"... I think thats a compliment. Then when we met Aunt Katie and I made friends with everyone who walked by our table. I even made friends with the little girl whose booth was next to our table, her name was Talula. Needless to say it was a great lunch.
Then after my nap we went to visit Daddy at the firestation. It was really fun because he is the driving the ladder truck today and he took me up to sit in the drivers seat with him. I got a little scared because the radio was so loud and it kept squawking about injured people on campus. But it was still pretty cool.
To top off my near perfect day, Granddaddy stopped by right after I finished my tuna casserole and I got to visit with him before I went to bed. I'm not really sure where I picked up the habit but instead of giving kisses, I give head-butts and my favorite person to give head-butts to is my Granddaddy. He's always expecting a head-butt which is good because once I caught my GiGi offguard and I think I bonked her a little hard :) Oopsy! Luckily she still loves me!
Well I should really go to bed before Mommy finds out I'm awake... its way past my bedtime!
Peace, love & head-butting,
Bailey

Peace, Love & 15 seconds of Fame

Just wanted everyone to know that I have made my official TV debut on the College Station Channel 3 News at Noon! When Grandma, Mommy and I went to the airport to see GiGi off there was a television crew there but we didn't think much about it. Although we didn't watch the news that night, they apparently recycled what they shot and used it in todays newscast. Mommy, Daddy and I were watching the news report about American Airlines and all of a sudden there Grandma and I were... How cool is that! I'm famous!

Peace, love & 15 seconds of fame,
Bailey

Peace, Love & The Color Red

Wanted to let everyone know that I have officially started my own business... mowing lawns! Lucky for you I can't reach the pedals on Granddaddy's spiffy new mower. I'm really glad that Granddaddy chose the red one, as you can see John Deere green just wouldn't do in our family!

Not much else to mention today - although I did extend my culinary exploits to include dog food yesterday... Mommy says that I get that from Daddy (apparently he was found in the doggy food bin when he was little).
Peace, love & the color red,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Birthday Cake

This is me and my daddy on my very first birthday! Its amazing how quickly time has passed and its hard to imagine that at this time last year all I really did was eat and sleep! Now I have 11 teeth, weigh 23 lbs, am 30 inches tall and I'm constantly on the go!

I've learned a lot in the past year and not only talk but use sign language to get my point across. I know how to say mom, dad, pup-pup, and abba (for abby) and I can sign daddy, more, milk, water and eat. I squat to use my diaper (which Mommy and Daddy find overly entertaining... potty training at 13 months, is that legal?). I love walking, running, climbing, dancing, riding in my stroller or behind Mommy's bike, petting the pup-pups, laughing, playing with my toys, using the swiffer, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair and swimming and/or taking a bath... and to top it off I love helping my Daddy cook and watching my Mommy sew. Oh and I almost forgot to mention my love affair with tupperware, mardi gras beads and blogging!!

Although my birthday was almost a month ago I wanted to share a picture of my cake eating experience with everyone. I kinda wish Mommy and Daddy had a video camera cause it would be much more entertaining but for the time being you'll have to settle with the still shots :)

Peace, love & birthday cake,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Fireworks

Today was officially my second 4th of July and to celebrate Mommy and I broke in my new trailer and Mommy's "new" bike. We toodled around Grandma and Granddaddy's neighborhood until mommy couldn't peddle anymore! Grandma even came along to supervise. It was a lot of fun though and I enjoyed the wind in my hair (that would be why my helmet isn't on... I kept taking it off because it was messing up coif).
After we got home from our ride we topped the evening off with some delicious turkey burgers with cucumber dill topping (sounds like something my Uncle Brett would make but it was Grandma's recipie and Granddaddy's grilling perfection)!

The other pic is of my 4th of July outfit, its a family heirloom and its one of my favorites. The little skort makes sure I look cute when I bust a move - walking, running, dancing or striking a pose for the camera!
Here's to a wonderful day full of family and new memories and celebrating our freedom. Be sure you remember our service men and women in your prayers tonight as well as the families who have lost loved ones in the pursuit of freedom.
Peace, love & fireworks,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Skinny Dipping

It has become apparent in recent weeks that I not only love the outdoors but water as well. This is me and my little swimming pool that Mommy and Daddy put in the front yard. If I could spend all day in it, it would probably make the Texas summer a little more bearable :)
As a side note, although it looks as though I'm not wearing anything, I do have a swim diaper on. Mommy and Daddy arent quite ready for me to go streaking in the front yard.
Peace, love and skinny dipping,
Bailey

Peace, Love & Puffed Corn

So today is my first time in the wonderful world of blogs and to celebrate such a momentous occasion I had to find the perfect picture. The picture at left, although not the cutest picture I've ever taken, certainly shows my spunk and personality. We took this picture to celebrate the fact that I finally have more hair than my daddy. Although it may not seem like much of a feat since daddy doesnt have a ton of hair, but considering I wasn't even one year old in the picture I figured it was note worthy.
Here's to the wonderful world of blogging and the many adventures to come.
Peace, love & puffed corn,
Bailey
